Transfer Guide
The domain transfer process can seem intimidating if you have never bought a premium domain before. In reality, it is straightforward and typically completes within 24 hours. Here are the exact domain transfer steps from start to finish.
An authorization code (also called an EPP code or transfer key) is a unique string that proves ownership and authorises a domain transfer between registrars. The seller generates this code and provides it to you as part of the transfer process. Without it, a domain cannot be moved — this is a security measure that protects you as much as the seller.
The 24 hours refers to the time between payment clearing and the domain appearing in your account. The actual registrar-to-registrar transfer can take as little as a few minutes for GoDaddy-to-GoDaddy transfers, or up to 5 days in rare cases where the receiving registrar has a waiting period. Most transfers complete within a few hours.
This is exactly why escrow exists. If the domain is not transferred, Escrow.com refunds your payment in full. You never risk losing money on a domain that is not delivered. It is the same protection model used for real estate and vehicle purchases.
Every Trabilo domain is transferred within 24 hours, secured by Escrow.com.
